Influence of intravenous inhalation anesthesia and total intravenous anesthesia on inflammatory cytokines of patients with breast cancer

  • Objective To explore the influence of intravenous inhalation anesthesia and to-tal intravenous anesthesia on inflammatory cytokines of patients with breast cancer. Methods 132 breast cancer patients treated with operation were randomly divided into group A(intravenous in-halation anesthesia,n =66)and group B(total intravenous anesthesia,n =66).Levels of IL-6 and TNF-αwere detected and compared in both groups. Results After the operation, the levels of IL-6 and TNF-αwere significantly higher than those before the operation in both groups(P <0.05). IL-6 level in the group A was significantly higher than group B at the time of 6 hours after the op-eration(P <0.01),and TNF-αwere significantly higher than group B at the time points of 4 and 6 hours after the operation (P <0.01).Conclusion Total intravenous anesthesia can suppress the postoperative increasing of serum IL-6,TNF-αand other inflammatory cytokines in patients with breast cancer in order to avoid excessive stress,so it is worthy of popularization.
