Abstract:
Objective To observe the clinical effect of meridian massage combined with regular aerobic exercise in treatment of childhood simple obesity.
Methods A total of 96 children with simple obesity were selected as the research subjects and divided into control group (n=48) and treatment group (n=48) according to the random number table method. The clinical treatment effects of the two groups were observed. Blood lipid indexes, body weight, waist circumference, body mass index (BMI), hip circumference, blood glucose indexes, leptin levels and major symptom scores of traditional Chinese medicine were compared between the two groups before and after treatment.
Results The total effective rate of clinical treatment in the control group was 72.92%, which was lower than 93.75% in the treatment group, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). After treatment, the triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) levels, body weight, BMI, waist circumference, blood glucose indexes, leptin levels and major symptom scores of traditional Chinese medicine were lower or smaller in both groups compared to before treatment, while high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) levels were higher; moreover, the treatment group had lower or smaller TG, TC, LDL-C, body weight, BMI, waist circumference, blood glucose indexes, leptin levels and major symptom scores of traditional Chinese medicine compared to the control group, and higher HDL-C levels, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05).
Conclusion Meridian massage combined with regular aerobic exercise has a good therapeutic effect on childhood simple obesity, which can effectively reduce body weight and improve basic signs such as blood glucose and blood lipids.
