Abstract:
Objective To evaluate the correlation of the product of triglyceride and fasting plasma glucose (TFM) with renal anemia in peritoneal dialysis(PD)patients.
Methods PD patients who received adequate evaluation in the Department of Nephrology of the First Hospital Affiliated to Soochow University were included. All clinical and laboratory data were collected and TFM was calculated. Pearson and Spearman methods were used to evaluate the correlations of these clinical and laboratory indicators with TFM in PD patients. The difference of TFM in PD patients with different anemia degree was compared. Multivariate Logistic regression was used to analyze the relationship between TFM and the severity of renal anemia.
Results A total of 137 PD patients were included. TFM in PD patients with Hb ≥110 g/L was significantly higher than those with Hb < 110 g/L(P=0.014). Binary Logistic regression suggested that the risk of moderate to severe anemia decreased with increasing TFM (OR=0.896, P=0.015).
Conclusion TFM is closely related to renal anemia in PD patients. The risk of moderate to severe anemia decreases with the increase of TFM.
