Abstract:
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of Huanghou Antidiarrheal Dropping Pills in the treatment of diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D).
Methods A total of 60 cases diagnosed with IBS-D were selected and randomly divided into observation group and control group, with 30 cases in each group. The observation group was treated with Huanghou Antidiarrheal Dropping Pills, and the control group was orally taken Bifidobacterium Quadruple Viable Tablets. The course of treatment lasted for 4 weeks, and the patients with marked effect and above were followed up after 4 weeks of drug withdrawal. The total effective rate of the patients was observed, the curative effect for traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome of the two groups was evaluated according to the TCM syndrome score, and the recurrence rate was counted.
Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 90.00%, which was higher than 76.67% in the control group(P < 0.05). After treatment, TCM syndrome scores in the two groups were significantly decreased compared with before treatment, and the observation group had a greater decrease than the control group (P < 0.05). The recurrence rate of the observation group was 25.93%, which was lower than 56.52% of the control group (P < 0.05).
Conclusion In the treatment of IBS-D, Huanghou Antidiarrheal Dropping Pill can improve the clinical symptoms of patients with mixed cold and heat syndrome and reduce the recurrence rate.
