Abstract:
Objective To understand the psychological experience of adolescents experiencing flood disaster.
Methods The semi-structured interview method of qualitative research was used to interview 12 teenagers who had experienced flood disaster, and the data were analyzed by Colaizzi seven-step method.
Results A total of 4 themes and 12 subthemes were extracted from the real psychological experience of the teenagers experiencing the flood disaster. Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) was obvious in the adolescents who experience flood disaster, and they presented a certain degree of PTSD.
Conclusion Most of the teenagers who experienced the flood grow up well after the trauma, cope well with the sudden interruption of the pace of life, but suffer from severe addiction to mobile phones and the internet. The society, schools and other relevant institutions need to strengthen the mental health education of adolescents who have experienced flood disasters, take targeted measures to reduce the level of psychological stress and prevent the occurrence of psychological disorders.
