Effect of 5A nursing model on self-management ability of patients with primary hypertension

    Abstract:
Objective To explore the effect of 5A nursing model based on interactive multimedia platform on the self-management ability of patients with primary hypertension.
Methods A total of 74 patients with primary hypertension were selected and randomly divided into study group and control group, with 37 cases in each group. The control group was conducted with routine health education, discharge education and 6-month follow-up after discharge, while the study group was conducted with health education, discharge education and 6-month follow-up after discharge by 5A nursing model based on interactive multimedia platform. The self-management ability and blood pressure control in both groups were observed and recorded.
Results After the intervention, the score of self-care ability in the study group was (135.89±8.38), which was significantly higher than (118.89±9.68) in the control group (P < 0.05). After 6 months, the average systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure in the study group were (139.22±8.25) and (84.57±7.10) mmHg, which were significantly lower than those before the intervention and those in the control group (P < 0.05).
Conclusion 5A nursing model based on interactive multimedia platform can further enhance self-management ability and improve blood pressure control of patients with hypertension.
