Abstract:
Puberty development refers to the course of maturation from childhood to adulthood and is accompanied by a growth spurt, development of secondary sexual and finally acquisition of adult reproductive capacity. The onset of pubertal development is result of activation of the anterior pituitary to produce gonadotrophin after increase in gonadotrophin-releasing hormone pulsatility by activation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis, and the gonads then mature and produce sex steroid hormones. Studies have shown that gonadotropin concentration in serumincreases at night in prepuberty and throughout puberty. Urinary gonadotropin concentration is expected to reflect the increase of gonadotropin secretion in serum. The research mainly focused on the value of urinary gonadotropin in evaluating the progress of puberty development.
