Abstract:
Objective To explore the correlation of serum uric acid and fasting blood glucose(FBG) with the elasticity of large artery.
Methods A total of 100 healthy people who underwent physical examinations were selected as study subjects, and were divided into normal uric acid group (n=30) and abnormal group (n=70), and they were divided into normal group (n=30), impaired regulation group (n=40) and diabetic group (n=30) according to the level of FBG. The brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity (ba PWV) and brachial-ankle index (ABI) value were detected. Multivariate Logistic regression analysis was used to screen the factors affecting hyperuricemia, and Pearson test was used to analyze the relationship of serum uric acid and FBG with the elasticity of large artery.
Results The proportions of patients with hypertension and diabetes, ABI, triglyceride (TG), low density lipoprotein (LDL-C), FBG and baPWV levels in the abnormal group were significantly increased than the normal group, but body mass index (BMI) decreased (P < 0.05). Logistics regression analysis showed that BMI, hypertension, TG, FBG, baPWV and ABI were the independent risk factors of hyperuricemia (P < 0.05). The waist-to-hip ratio, pulse rate, total cholesterol (TC), LDL-C, FBG and 2 h postprandial blood glucose level in impaired regulation group and diabetic group were significantly increased (P < 0.05). Pearson test showed that serum uric acid was positively correlated with FBG, and negatively correlated with baPWV and ABI (P < 0.05).
Conclusion There are close relationships of serum uric acid and FBG with elasticity of the aorta, serum uric acid is positively correlated with FBG and negatively correlated with elasticity of the large artery.
