Abstract:
Interleukin-33(IL-33) has pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory effects, and plays vital roles in various diseases such as asthma, myocardial infarction and inflammatory bowel disease. Recent studies have shown that IL-33 affects the regulation of decidual and placental immune cells during pregnancy and is involved in maintaining the anti-inflammatory and pro-inflammatory balance. Inflammatory response in myometrium during pregnancy is a major factor leading to delivery, but the effect of IL-33 on uterine smooth muscle during pregnancy is unknown. This paper summarized the inflammatory response mechanisms of IL-33 in airway smooth muscle, small intestine smooth muscle, myocardium, skeletal muscle and pregnancy-related diseases, aiming to provide research strategy for the study of IL-33 in uterine smooth muscle during pregnancy.
