Abstract:
Objective To observe the effect of Peek Prevail intervertebral fusion device in the treatment of patients with degenerative disease of cervical intervertebral disc.
Methods From January to June 2017, 31 patients with anterior cervical decompression and fusion (ACDF) by Peek Prevail intervertebral fusion device in author's hospital were selected as Prevail group, and all the patients were followed up for at least 2 years. Another 31 patients treated with anterior plate in the same period were selected as the plate group. The imaging changes and postoperative complications were compared between the two groups.
Results The intraoperative blood loss and operation time in the Prevail group were significantly less and shorter than those in the plate group (P < 0.05). There were 9 patients with dysphagia in the plate group, and 4 of them had mild dysphagia until the end of follow-up. There were 6 patients with mild dysphagia in the Prevail group, and their symptoms disappeared completely within 6 weeks after operation. The cervical lordosis angle, Cobb angle of surgical segment and intervertebral space height at each time point after operation in both groups were significantly higher than those before operation (P < 0.01).
