Abstract:
The incidence of venous thromboembolism (VTE) is increasing year by year in Asian population, and has become a major cause of seriously affecting patients' quality of life and hospital death. Therefore, effective prevention and treatment of VTE are very important. Ankle pump exercise is widely used as a safe, economical and accessible measure for thrombosis prevention. However, there is no unified standard for ankle pump movement in different medical units in clinical practice, thus it's unable to achieve the desired effect. In this study, we reviewed the movement modes of the ankle pump from aspects of movement autonomy, form, angle and frequency. In addition, we also had a review in the ankle pump auxiliary devices and promotion measures, aiming to provide a basis for the correct clinical implementation of ankle pump movement and to give full play to the thrombosis prevention effect of ankle pump exercise.
