Abstract:
Objective To explore the effect of Buyang Huanwu Decoction combined with acupuncture in the treatment of patients with limb dysfunction after stroke.
Methods A total of 67 patients with limb dysfunction after stroke were divided into two groups. Control group(
n=33)was treated with western medicine, while the study group(
n=34)was treated with Buyang Huanwu Decoction and acupuncture on the basis of western medicine. The scores of Fugel Meyer Scale(FMA)for limb motor function assessment, indexes of inflammatory factors [C reactive protein(CRP), matrix metalloproteinase-9(MMP-9)], score of syndrome of tradition Chinese medicine(TCM), and total effective rate were compared between two groups.
Results After treatment, the FMA score of the study group was significantly higher than that of the control group(
P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of CRP and MMP-9 in the study group were significantly lower than those in the control group(
P<0.05). After treatment, the score of TCM syndrome in the study group was significantly lower than that in the control group(
P<0.05), and the total effective rate of the study group was significantly higher than that of the control group(
P<0.05).
Conclusion Buyang Huanwu Decoction combined with acupuncture is effective in the treatment of patients with limb dysfunction after stroke, which can effectively improve the movement function of the affected limbs.
