Abstract:
Objective To study the effect of video combined with picture-text sputum specimen picture in collection of sputum specimens in tuberculosis patients.
Methods Fifty tuberculosis patients admitted from January to March 2019 wereselected as control group, and fifty tuberculosis patients from April to June 2019 as observation group. The control group was given routine oral explanations for requirement and precautions of sputum specimens collection, the observation group was given picture-text sputum picture to explain the requirements for sputum specimen collection, and played a video on effective cough and sputum methods at 1 d before the specimen collected. The qualified rate and positive rate of sputum specimens were compared.
Results The qualified rate andpositive rate of sputum smear of the observation group were higher than those of the control group(94.7% vs. 87.3%, 49.2% vs. 30.2%, respectively,
P < 0.05).
Conclusion The application of video combined with picture-text sputum specimen picture in tuberculosis patients can improve the qualified rate of sputum specimen collection and the positive rate of smear.
