Abstract:
Objective To observe the clinical effect of Zhuchen Fayu Ginger shampoo combined with finasteride in treatment of patients with androgenic alopecia.
Methods A total of 96 male patients with androgenic alopecia were randomly divided into routine group and Zhuchen Fayu group. Routine group was given regular shampoo and finasteride, while Zhuchen Fayu group was given Zhuchen Fayu Ginger shampoo and finasteride. After 6 months of treatment, clinical effect and the incidence rate of adverse reactions were compared between two groups.
Results The total effective rate was 93.75% in the Zhuchen Fayu group and 79.17% in the routine group, and there was a significant difference (P < 0.05). The improvement of scalp pruritus, greasiness, dandruff and folliculitis in Zhuchen Fayu group were significantly better than those in the routine group (P < 0.05). After treatment, the density of hair follicle, the density of hair coat and the rate of hair growing along the scalp in both groups were improved, and those in the Zhuchen Fayu group were significantly better than routine group (P < 0.05). The onset time of Zhuchen Fayu group was shorter than that of the routine group, and the growing speed and regeneration rate of new hair were significantly higher than those of the routine group (P < 0.05). The incidence rate of adverse reactions was 6.25% in the routine group and 2.08% in the Zhuchen Fayu group, which showed no significant difference between two groups (P>0.05).
Conclusion Zhuchen Fayu Ginger shampoo combined with finasteride is effective in treatment of patients with androgenic alopecia, which can effectively improve the symptoms of alopecia and promote growth of new hair.
