Abstract:
Objective To study the effect of cushion removable partial denture on occlusal function recovery in patients with dentition defect and severe wear.
Methods A total of 60 cases patients with dentition defect and severe wear were selected. According to the random number table method, they were divided into control group and observation group, with 30 cases in each group. The control group was treated with ordinary removable partial denture, while the observation group was treated with occlusal cushion removable partial denture for repairmen. After 3 to 6 months of treatment, the quality of life and recovery of occlusal function were compared between the two groups before and after treatment.
Results The excellent and good rate of occlusal function recovery in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (P < 0.05). There were no significant difference in quality of life score between the two groups before treatment (P>0.05), while the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group after treatment(P < 0.05).
Conclusion The removable partial denture with occlusal cushion in the treatment of patients with dentition defect and severe wear can effectively promote the recovery of occlusal function and improve the prognosis quality of life.
