Abstract:
Objective To study the effect of stage rehabilitation nursing on cognitive function and quality of life of elderly patients with Alzheimer′s disease.
Methods A total of 80 elderly patients with Alzheimer's disease in our hospital were selected as study subjects. According to the random number table method, they were randomly divided into study group and control group, with 40 cases in each group. The patients in the two groups were given routine examination and treatment. The patients in the study group were additionally given stage rehabilitation nursing intervention. Cognitive function and quality of life were assessed by the Easy Intelligence Mental State Scale (MMSE) and the Quality of Life Scale for Alzheimer′s Disease (QOL-AD), respectively, before and 6 months after intervention.
Results Before intervention, there were no significant differences in MMSE score and QOL-AD score between the two groups (P>0.05). After 6 months of intervention, the above indicators of the two groups were significantly increased (P < 0.05), and the study group was significantly higher than the control group (P < 0.05).
Conclusion Stage rehabilitation nursing can effectively improve the cognitive function and quality of life of elderly patients with Alzheimer′s disease.
