Abstract:
Objective To study effect of continuous nursing intervention on self-care ability and life quality of elderly patients with repeated respiratory infection.Methods A total of 242 elderly patients with repeated respiratory infection were divided into observation group and control group,both groups were given routine nursing and observation group was added continuous nursing.Followed up for 3 months,self-care ability,frequency of symptom onset,and life quality were compared between two groups.Results Followed up for 3 months,the observation group had higher health knowledge level,self-care concept,self-care responsibility,self-care skills than control group (P < 0.05),and fever,cough,stuffy nose,runny nose,sore throat frequency were significantly less than the control group (P < 0.05).Score of physiological function,Physiological ability,vitality,emotional function,social function,mental health and overall health were significantly higher than control group (P < 0.05).Conclusion Continuous nursing intervention can improve self-care ability for elderly patients with repeated respiratory infection,reduce the frequency of symptom onset,and improve life quality.
