Abstract:
Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of cefepime in the treatment of bacterial infection of gynecology. Methods 235 bacterial infection patients were randomly divided into test group (n =118)and control group (n =117).The clinical observation was done according to Guidelines for Clinical Research of Antibiotics issued by Ministry of Health of the People′s Repub-lic of China. The control group was treated with intravenous injection of ceftazidime for 2.0 g added into 250 mL of Sodium Chloride Injection (concentration of 0.9%)twice a day, while the test group was treated with cefepime 2.0 g added into 250 mL of Sodium Chloride Injection(concentra-tion of 0.9%)twice a day.The treatment periods for the two groups were both 7 to 14 days. The efficacy and safety were observed and compared. Results The clinical cure rates of the test group and the control group were 50.85% and 37.61% respectively; The effective rates were 92.37%and 79.49% respectively, and the clearance rates of bacteria were 90.83% and 75.47% respective-ly.There was significant difference between the two groups (P <0.01).No serious adverse reac-tion was found during the clinical research. Conclusion Cefepime is more safety, effective, and has better clinical efficacy than ceftazidime in the treatment of bacterial infection of gynecology.
