Abstract:
Objective To explore the self-management level in patients with gastroe-sophageal reflux disease (GERD)and its influence on patients′health states,and meanwhile to an-alyze the correlation between self-management level and quality of life.Methods GERD self-management behavior scale and health status questionnaire were used to evaluate states of 372 el-derly patients with GERD.Results Self-management level and quality of life in elderly patients with GERD were at a relatively low level,and there was a positive correlation between the pa-tients′self-management level and quality of life.Conclusion Medical staffs should adopt targeted measures to strengthen health education on self-management in elderly patients with GERD,and implementation of these measures can improve the quality of life of patients.
